Aesthetic dermatology and cosmetic dermatology is the brief study about the beauty treatment. Cosmetic dermatology is also known as cosmetology. Aesthetic dermatology and cosmetic dermatology is mainly focused on improve or enhance the cosmetic appearance through the treatment of conditions including scars, skin laxity, wrinklesmolesliver spots, excess fat, celluliteunwanted hairskin discoloration, and spider veins. That includes surgical (facelifts, breast implants) and non-surgical (radio frequency skin tightening, chemical peel) dermatology procedure. In some cases can use both surgical and non-surgical dermatology treatment. Now a day's aesthetic dermatology and cosmetic dermatology gained a remarkable interest throughout the world.

In US there are more than 11 million aesthetic dermatology and cosmetic dermatology treatment performed from 2012 to 2013. In UK around 50000 aesthetic dermatology treatments were performed in between 2013 -2014, in that 90% of the treatment is non-surgical dermatology technique, surgical dermatology techniques constitute the remaining 10%. In worldwide there were 20 million cosmetic dermatology treatments were performed at the period of 2014 to 2015. The development of abnormal skin cell growth is also known as skin cancer which is also called as Dermatological Oncology. Skin cancer has the ability to invade to other parts of the body through blood vessels. Dermatological Oncology widely classified into Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer (NMSC) and Melanoma Skin Cancer (MSC). Despite the fact that melanoma is one of the most rapidly increasing forms of human cancer, new treatments have been slow in developing and the mortality rate continues to rise. There are more than 90% of skin cancers has caused by radiations (Ultra Violet) and 20 to 30% of MSC developed from the mole.

Globally most common type of dermatological oncology is NMSC, around 2-3 million people were affected by the NMSC. In that 80% are Basal-Cell Cancer and 20% are Squamous-Cell CancerNon-Melanoma Skin Cancer cells very rarely causing death. But, in 2012 around 232000 people affected by Melanoma Skin Cancer and resulted in 55000 deaths. According to Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF), 2 in 3 Australians has diagnosed with skin cancer by the time they are at 70, and more than 750,000 people treated for one or more non-melanoma skin cancers in each year. In 2013, 12,744 Australians were diagnosed with melanoma. In 2014, 2067 people died from skin cancer in that 1467 from melanoma skin cancer and 600 from non-melanoma skin cancers.

The skin is the largest organ of human body. Its main role to covers / protect inner parts of the body. It provides a remarkably good barrier against infections. But sometimes the skin itself becomes infected. Microorganisms (Bacteria, Virus, Fungi and Parasite) are one of the main root causes of skin infections. Bacterial skin infection will occur when bacteria (Staphylococcus) enter into the body through a break in the skin (cut or scratch). Some bacterial infections are delicate which can be easily treated. But some infections require an oral antibiotic. Cellulitis and impetigo are two types of bacterial skin infections. Fungal skin infections are common in adolescents and adults. Our body chemistry and lifestyle can increase the risk of fungal skin infections. Funguses are mostly developing in damp areas (feet or armpit) of the body. Wearing sweaty/wet clothes is a risk factor for fungal skin infections. All fungal infections are not contagious, and also these infections are typically non-life-threatening. Fungal skin infections are treated with oral/topical antifungal medicines. In 2013 around 155 million people affected by bacterial skin infections and also about 600 million people got cellulitis in the same year. Globally one billion people have affected by the fungal skin infections at the time of 2010.

Hair transplantation totally differs from skin grafting, it is one of the surgical technique. That moves hair follicles from donor site to recipient site (balding part) of the body. In the beginning, it is used to treat the baldness only, but now a day it can be also used to treat or restore the hair follicles to eyelashes, eyebrows, beard hair, chest and pubic hair and to fill in scars caused by accidents or surgery. Hair transplantation widely classified into three categories Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT), Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE), and Hair Stem Cell Transplantation (HSC). Compare to those three techniques, Hair Stem Cell Transplantation is more effective and sophisticated technique which has 100% success results.

In worldwide, hair transplantation market size is near $2.5 billion this was increased 28% since 2012. A number of Hair transplantations have increased 76% from 2006 to 2014. Since 2006 the proportion of female surgical hair transplantation patients increased by 11%. In 2014 more than 1 million hair transplantation (surgical or non-surgical) patients were treated. Asia (427709), USA (244207) and Middle East (125372) are the top three regions for a number of hair transplant patients in 2014.

Skin grafting is one of the surgical procedures that involves removing the skin from one part of the body (Donor site) and moving/ transplant into the another part of the same body or different body (recipient site). This grafting may be done if any part of the body has lost its protective layer (Skin) due to burns, injury or surgery. It is also known as Dermatoplasty / Dermoplasty. Split-thickness graft and Full-thickness grafts are the two main classifications. A Split-thickness graft involves removing the thin layer of Epidermis (top layer of the skin) from the donor site, which is the area where the healthy skin is located. A full thickness graft involves removing the pinching or cutting away the small part of the skin from the donor site. That is a more risky method, it leaves scars from the donor site and also we cannot get better cosmetic outcomes.

The technique of Skin Grafting was initially described approximately 2500-3000 years ago. According to WHO (World Health Organisation), burns are caused around 265000 deaths per year throughout the world. In that 96% of burns (fire) deaths have occurred only low/minimum income country.

Psoriasis is a chronic (long-life) Auto Immune Diseases. It causes skin cells grow rapidly on the surface of the skin due to fault signals from the immune system. The new skin cells form in days rather than a week. The body does not shed these entire skin cells so that the excess skin cells will form scales and red patches. There are five main types of psoriasis: plaque, guttate, inverse, pustular, and erythrodermic. It won’t spread by touching another person who has it. To get psoriasis, a person’s genes must get inherited. There is no complete cure for psoriasis, but some treatments will help to control the symptoms like Steroid and Vitamin D3 cream, methotrexate (Immune Suppressing Medications).

In entire population of the globe, around 2 to 4 % of people getting affect by psoriasis. Both men and women are affected with equal frequency. Plaque psoriasis makes up to 90% of cases, which is also called as Psoriasis Vulgaris. Around 75% of cases can be managed with creams alone.

Immununodermatology is the study and treatment of the Immune-Mediated Skin Diseases such as psoriasis. Systemic Lupus Erythematous (SLE), Bullous Pemphigoid (BP) and Pemphigus Vulgaris (PV) are some type of autoimmune diseases, in which our body immune system mistakenly acts against our own healthy cells or tissue or parts of the body. Systemic Lupus Erythematous (SLE) also known as lupus. In this case, most commonly face tissue will affect. The root cause is not entirely clear, it is believed to involve some hormones, environmental and genetic factors. There is no permanent cure for SLE, but corticosteroids, immunosuppressant, hydroxychloroquine and methotrexate will help to reduce the effects. Bullous Pemphigoid is a chronic autoimmune disorder, which will form the blisters (Bullae) at the space between the epidermis and dermis layers of the skin. It comes under the Type II Hypersensitivity. Immunofluorescence study will help to diagnose this disease. Pemphigus Vulgaris is a rare chronic blistering (Oral blisters) skin disease. It also comes under Type II Hypersensitivity.

According to The National Institutes of Health (NIH) from Olmsted country, there are 27 million people suffering from autoimmune skin diseases. In that woman/men ratio was 2.6:1. More than hundred autoimmune diseases are there. Around 50 million Americans have an autoimmune disease. It will affect women 70% more than men.

According to WHO (World Health Organization), diagnostic techniques or procedures should encompass all kind of investigations and tests intended to gather clinical information for the purpose to identify the root cause of that particular disease. Doctors can’t able to find all kind of clinical information, by simply looking at the skin. Some diagnostic technique is used to identify the characteristics (size, shape, color, and location) and clinical information about the disease. Biopsy, Scrapings, culture, wood light, Tzanck testing, Diascopy, patch test, prick test and intradermal test these are the techniques used to identify a different kind of Dermatology.

Some devices are used to identify the nature, cause and clinical information about some kind of skin diseases.  Optical coherence tomography (OCT) and Teledermatology (TD) are examples of diagnostic devices in dermatology. Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is used to visualize the morphological structure of the skin cancer, vascular architecture and the blood flow to the skin. Teledermatology (TD) is a subspecialty of dermatology. In this field, telecommunication technologies are being used to transfer medical information through data communication. Laser treatment plays a crucial role in cosmetic dermatology.

The global dermatology devices market is broadly classified into diagnostic devices and treatment devices based on the type and application. In 2016 global dermatology devices market is $8.22 billion, at a CAGR of 11.50%. That is expected to reach $14.17 billion at 2021.
